The Knights of Columbus Council has stood as a beacon of service and fraternity. For generations, this council had been a steadfast source of support and camaraderie, its leaders guiding its members through countless challenges and triumphs.

This story however, is about a memorable leadership transition, after William Ronquillo assumed the prestigious role of Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus-Ascension of Our Lord Council 8235.

The "Faith in Action" program by the Knights of Columbus embodies their commitment to living out their Catholic faith through practical actions and charity. It focuses on four key areas:

Faith: Deepening members' faith by promoting devotion to the Blessed Mother, attending Friday Mass and Holy Hour, and supporting seminarians of the Diocese of Novaliches.

Family: Emphasizing strong family units through annual family days and outreach programs like providing food to indigent families.

Community: Addressing community needs with free medical services, including ultrasound and medical consultations, for residents on September 8, 2023.

Life: Promoting the dignity of human life through pro-life marches, maintaining markers for the unborn in the church, and organizing pro-life forums.

Ronquillo, known for his exceptional work as an Information Officer at the Philippine Information Agency, is now leading the council's noble mission of benevolence and community service.

The council's solemn installation ceremony on the afternoon of August 26, 2023, not only marked a significant shift in leadership but also underscored the organization's unwavering dedication to its core values.

The ceremony opened with a moving mass led by Fr. Ryan Pasabilla, who emphasized the council's longstanding legacy of compassion and its commitment to serving the community. For Ronquillo, the spiritual words of inspiration carried extra significance as he embarked on a new journey of service.

District Deputy Rodolfo Arias and District Warden Mac Arthur Yoro of District N-31 conducted the officers' installation ceremony, an event that represented the transfer of leadership and responsibilities within the council.

The outgoing Grand Knight, Sir Knight Kristoffer Noel Tindoc, passed the mantle to Ronquillo, a touching moment that symbolized the council's commitment to maintaining its core principles while embracing fresh leadership.

Beyond Ronquillo's appointment, the council introduced a new dimension to its operations by inducting Service Program Directors. These directors will play crucial roles in implementing diverse programs aimed at supporting both parishioners and the broader community. The council's adaptability and its commitment to addressing a broad range of community needs are evident through this expansion.

With officers and Service Program Directors officially assuming their roles and responsibilities, the Knights of Columbus-Ascension of Our Lord Council 8235 enters a promising phase for the fiscal year 2023-2024. Ronquillo's leadership and vision promise a bright future for the council, reaffirming its role as a beacon of support and goodwill to the local community.

Indeed, Ronquillo’s, ascent to Grand Knight is an inspiring example of how individuals from various backgrounds can make a significant impact in their communities. His leadership reflects the council's open-mindedness, its dedication to a unified vision, and its commitment to making the world a better place through charitable initiatives and community service.

The Knights of Columbus-Ascension of Our Lord Council 8235's commitment to service and unity is not only a testament to their values but also a source of inspiration for other organizations and individuals/parishioners seeking to make a difference in their communities.

As they embark on this new chapter, they do so with the strength of their tradition and the hope of a brighter, more connected future for all.

Truly, the spirit of the Knights of Columbus remains strong, if not stronger, within all its members, for the transition celebrates not just a change in leadership but a continuation of the group's sacred mission. (PIA-NCR)
