COVID-19 shots from Japan to arrive this month

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines announced the arrival of vaccines against COVID-19 to arrive in the country this month.

On its official Facebook page, the Embassy of Japan said that one million doses of AstraZeneva vaccines manufactured in Japan which are expected to arrive in Manila tentatively on July 8.

The embassy added that the donation was formalized with the signing and exchange of notes between the Embassy of Japan’s Chargé d'affaires ad interim NAKATA Masahiro and Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Nathaniel Garcia Imperial on June 29.

We are working double time so these vaccines reach Philippine shores without delay. We hope this donation would help make the Philippines one step closer to its goal of herd immunity.” (Embassy of Japan PH/PIA-NCR)
