TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)--The Tangub City COVID-19 Task Force is now focused on the situation within Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Tangub after seven of its inmates tested positive on COVID-19.
Jail Warden Shiela Conol said the eight inmates went through the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test and were scheduled to be sent to the San Ramon Penal Colony in Davao City when the inmates resulted positive.
Co-chairman of the City COVID Task Force Dr. Janice Biete said seven inmates are currently isolated in the new BJMP building and BJMP continues to monitor their condition. Those who were close contacts of the patients are isolated in another room of the new building.
Due to the situation, all activities inside the prison were initially suspended while the jail nurse also continued to monitor the condition of the inmates.
BJMP Tangub personnel and inmates are scheduled to undergo antigen tests while a study is being done on where the inmates got the virus. (Shaine Mae R. Nagtalon/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
