DENR NCR conducts Bokashi Balls throwing at Valenzuela creek

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-National Capital Region, through its North Field Office (NFO), recently joined the Environment Management Bureau (EMB) NCR in a "bokashi balls" throwing activity along the Lingunan Creek in Valenzuela City.

A bokashi ball is a mixture of garden soil, molasses, bokashi or rice hull, and effective microorganism (EM) solution. The EM solution contains microorganisms that help breakdown toxins and consume bad bacteria in the water.

According to the DENR, these balls, when applied, will accordingly help improve water quality and help restore the water body to its proper ecological balance. (DENR NCR/PIA-NCR)
