DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, July 8 (PIA) -- The Dumaguete City government has already administered a total of 14,433 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 12,337 qualified residents as of July 8.
The additional 7,000 vials of vaccines of COVID-19 from the national government arrived on July 7 to help accelerate the vaccination of more residents.
This is the third shipment sent from the national government in response to the request of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo for the allocation of more vaccines for city residents considering the recent spike in COVID-19 cases.
Currently, about 859 individuals received their COVID-19 shots in the two vaccination sites at Pulantubig Gym and Robinson's Place administered by the City Health Office staff and several medical volunteers.
Of the 12,337 eligible residents vaccinated, 1,610 are medical frontliners or (A1); 5,619 senior citizens (A2); 3,472 persons with comorbidities (A3); and 1,636 frontline personnel (A4) were vaccinated based on the order of priority of the Department of Health.
Dr. Sarah Talla of City Health Office said her office is in constant alert to respond to any serious case of side effects of people after their COVID-19 vaccination.
Health workers assigned in the barangays are ready to investigate and initiate medical intervention for individuals who may complain of adverse events or side effects following their immunization, said Talla. (JCT/PIA Negros Oriental)
