Pateros temporary halts first dose of vaccines due to supply

CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) --The Municipal Government of Pateros has temporarily postponed giving first dose of COVID-19 vaccines to the residents due to supply shortage.

“Tayo ay pagsamantalang huminto sa pagbibigay ng bakuna na first dose dahil wala tayong available na vaccines na maibibigay sa ating mga kababayan,” Pateros Mayor Ike Ponce said in his livestream on Monday, July 12. (We will temporarily stop giving the vaccine first dose because we already used up the available allocation.)

Ponce, however, said they will eventually announce when they will be able to vaccinate residents for their first dose.

The Pateros local government cited that they have inoculated 75.5% of eligible population.

“Tuloy tuloy naman ang pagbibigay ng second dose ng bakuna dahil tayo ay may hawak na bakuna para ibigay ang second dose,” Ponce said. (We will continue administering the vaccine second those because we still have them.)

Ponce assured that they will continue giving second dose of vaccine especially to those who already got their first dose of Pfizer, Sinovac, and AstraZeneca vaccine.

“Tayo naman ay confident na ngayon linggo na ito makapagbigay tayo sa ating kababayan na nais magpabakuna,” Ponce said. (We are confident that we can deliver to our citizens within this week.)

The Pateros local government continues to give advisories to residents on their vaccination schedule through text messages. (Pateros/PIA-NCR)
