DAVAO CITY, July 16 (PIA)—The spokesperson of the COVID-19 Task Force in Davao City stressed that only few limitations were lifted in the city under the General Community Quarantine status with heightened restrictions.
Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the COVID-19 Task Force said Davao City under the general community quarantine with heightened restriction will not adopt the Inter-Agency Task Force resolution No. 124-B or the intrazonal travel of fully vaccinated persons.
She said Davao City will continue to expand its contact tracing, and the implementation of the executive orders until such time that the city has lowered its COVID-19 cases until it loosens up its restrictions. Schlosser said it is important that the city implements its heightened strategies to decrease the number of cases.
“There may be changes in the city’s quarantine status, but the protocols and contact tracing will still be the same,” she said.
Schlosser said the city will not also adopt IATF resolution No. 125 which allows children to go out.
“Under IATF resolution No. 125, it is written there that under heightened restriction, children aged 17 below are not allowed to go around public places” she said.
Colonel Kirby John Kraft, director of the Davao City Police Office explained that the general community quarantine with restrictions means people are still obliged to stay-home.
He said non-contact sports like walking, jogging and cycling are already allowed even beyond ten-kilometers from the person’s residence.
Kraft disclosed that establishments can add fifty percent accommodation of clients, and hotels are again allowed to operate with 30 percent accommodation in their venues.
He said indoor dining is allowed up to 40 percent capacity, while exercise even beyond ten-kilometer radius from the residence is already allowed.
Kraft underscored that since the city is under GCQ with high restrictions, children below from 17 years old below are not allowed yet to go out in the public places.
“You have to continue observing the minimum public health standards,” he said.
Kraft said gyms are allowed to operate up to 40 percent. (PIA XI-Joey Sem Dalumpines)
