CALOOCAN, (PIA) -- The Municipality of Pateros reminded its citizens to stay safe and continue following the health protocols amid the COVID-19 Delta variant threat.
Pateros Mayor Ike Ponce, in his livestream on Wednesday, said that the Delta variant is already detected in the country particularly in the National Capital Region and other provinces.
(Everyone is encouraged to stay safe and follow the minimum public health standards.)
The Delta variant is 40 to 60% more transmissible compared to all other COVID-19 variants.
(We will re-implement stricter health protocols to ensure the Delta variant will not enter our municipality.)
The local government of Pateros is now preparing its isolation facilities in case of COVID-19 case surge.
(We are once again readying our isolation facilities as a precaution.)
Ponce advised residents to stay at home and avoid non-essential activities outside.
(Let us be extra careful this time, since the Delta variant is already near our area.) (Pateros LGU/PIA-NCR)
