CALOOCAN (PIA) – National Task Force (NTF) Deputy Chief Implementer and Testing Czar Vince Dizon said Tuesday, July 27, that 6.3 million Filipinos are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
“Itong bilang na ito ay lumaki mula sa halos 3 million nung umpisa ng July na ngayon ay dumoble na ito (This number increased from 3 million beginning July, which doubled today),” Dizon said during the Presidential Spokesperson Press Briefing today held at Subic Bay Freeport.
Around 17.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered as of July 26, he said.
“Ito ay malaking bagay lalo na sa nakikita nating pangamba sa COVID-19 Delta variant (It’s a big thing, especially amid the threat of the Delta variant),” Dizon said.
The national government will continue to boost the vaccination program to lessen the possibility of people contracting severe COVID-19 effects.
“Kung ikaw ay bakunado na, mas maliit ang chance na ikaw ay lubhang magkakasakit o maoospital dahil sa Delta variant (If you’re vaccinated, you’re less likely to get seriously ill or hospitalized because of the Delta variant),” Dizon said.
The Deputy Chief Implementer said the highest daily vaccination rate recorded is at 472,000 doses, nearing the 500,000 target.
“Ang importante ngayon ay tuloy tuloy ang pagbabakuna natin pati na ang pagdating ng mga supply ng bakuna sa bansa (The important thing is that we continue the vaccination and secure a steady vaccine supply in the country),” Dizon said. (JMB/PIA-IDPD)
