SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE (PIA) -- Department of Health (DOH) urges healthcare workers, senior citizens, those with comorbidities and economic frontliners to get vaccinated to be protected from COVID-19 especially the Delta variant.
In his message during the Ceremonial Vaccination for A4 Workers of Subic Bay Freeport Zone, DOH Undersecretary Roger Tong-an advises them to register and coordinate with their respective local government units to avail the free jabs.
“Through this ongoing initiative, we can be hopeful that families, communities and all of us can be together again. The battle against COVID-19 is not yet over, and in the wake of the emergence of variants, we must stand together with unity, purpose and action as we travel the road of a better normal,” he said.
To mitigate the unprecedented adversities of the pandemic, Tong-an cited the response programs of the government which include the Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat and Re-integrate Strategy and Bida Solusyon campaign.

Also, he stressed the prioritization framework for COVID-19 vaccination based on the recommendation of expert bodies and advisory groups in order to ensure the equitable distribution of vaccines.
For his part, National Task Force Against COVID-19 Deputy Chief Implementer Vince Dizon emphasized the importance of vaccination as the key solution against increasing cases of Delta variant in the country.
Aside from the initial vaccines administered during the program, Dizon assured weekly supply of COVID-19 vaccines in Subic Bay Freeport Zone through the local government unit and DOH Regional Office.
Also, he noted that the inoculation of A4 workers in NIDEC is a small token of appreciation for its belief in Subic and in the Philippines, and for giving jobs to thousands of Filipinos. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
