Some PDLs are also engaged in livelihood activities like making of native house miniatures, bakery breads, water bonsai and soft brooms to help them provide additional income to their respective families.
As of July 28, 2021, the Ifugao District Jail has a total population of 139 PDLs consisting of six female and 133 male. 63 of them are facing rape charges, 27 for illegal drugs, 8 for murder, 7 for estafa, four each for homicide and violence against women and children, two for robbery and one each for parricide and carnapping.
Cayong assured that the rights and general welfare of the PDLs are being protected and respected and there is no over crowding in the facility.
