ILOCOS SUR, Aug. 27 (PIA) – The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office I (PSA – RSSO I) will be conducting the 2021 Listing of Marine Fish Landing Centers (2021 LMFLC) on September 1-30, 2021.
The 2021 LMFLC is a nationwide activity that will cover all cities and municipalities with existing landing centers.
The PSA said the activity aims to generate an updated list of marine fish landing centers for the whole country and to come up with a reliable and timely sampling frame for commercial and municipal fisheries surveys.
The activity will also involve the listing and geotagging of all commercial and municipal fish landing centers.
“Only landing centers that are currently operational or are temporarily closed will be geotagged,” the PSA told the Philippine Information Agency.
The mode of data collection that will be utilized for the 2021 LMFLC is the computer-assisted personal interview wherein responses are recorded in a tablet containing the electronic questionnaires.
In line with this, the PSA enjoins all landing center officials, fishermen, boat owners/operators, officers/members of the fisherfolk organizations, and traders/brokers at the fish landing centers in the country to support the 2021 LMLFC by providing the information needed.
All personnel involved in the 2021 LMFLC are required to keep in strict confidence any information obtained during the listing and enumeration that pertains to any particular person. (JCR/AMB/PIA Ilocos Sur with reports from PSA)
