MANILA, (PIA) -- The cash aid distributed in Metro Manila has reached 10.7 billion pesos as of August 31, 2021, according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año said of the amount, 10,663,537 are the beneficiaries who have received assistance since Metro Manila was subjected to Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ).
The secretary commended the Local Government Units (LGUs) for their quick distribution of cash assistance amounting to P1,000 per individual.
Meanwhile, he said they can process the beneficiaries' complaints with the grievance and appeal committee so that any unclaimed aid can be distributed to residents until Sept. 10.
Among the cities that have completed their distribution are Quezon City, Manila, Caloocan, Pasig, Malabon and Navotas.
The distribution of aid is 90 to 99 percent in San Juan, Pateros, Las Piñas, Mandaluyong and Pasay City.
The national government had earlier released 11.2 billion pesos for the distribution of aid to the National Capital Region (NCR) after it was subjected to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). (PIA-NCR)
