SIQUIJOR, Siquijor, Nov. 9 (PIA) -- Amid the COVID-19 surge in the province of Siquijor, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recently released 5,000 family food packs (FFP) as relief augmentation to the families of Siquijor town affected by the granular lockdown.
According to Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Zusan Siao, all families will be given FFPs.
However, for those who may be left out during the distribution, Siao assured that they will immediately make an additional request to DSWD.
Siao thanked the DSWD-7 for the speedy release of the FFPs.
She said the relief distribution was made possible through the efforts of the different offices of the Local Government Unit of Siquijor, including the president of the Association of Barangay Captains and a member of the Sangguniang Bayan for the free use of a vehicle, and the volunteers from barangays Caitican and Pulangyuta under the supervision of the respective Punong Barangay for assisting in the loading and unloading of the relief goods.
