DAVAO ORIENTAL, Nov. 11 (PIA) -- The Weakened Guerilla Front 18 top leader, Jocy Villaruel Papasin alias "Domai" was neutralized on November 7, 2021, in Sitio Yauri, Brgy. Calapagan, Lupon, Davao Oriental by the 66th Infantry Battalion under the 701st Infantry Brigade.
In the official report of the Public Affairs Division of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, alias Domai disclosed that she already considered surrendering before the encounter due to the loss of support of the masses whom they have relied for many years.
On the same report, alias Domai was caught in the middle of crossfires between the troops of 66th Infantry Battalion and the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members under the Weakened Guerilla Front 18, Sub-Regional Committee 2 (SRC2), Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC). The CTG members ran and abandoned alias Domai which led to her surrender.
She was immediately brought to the Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center for first-aid and medical evaluation. Initial reports showed she is five (5) months pregnant.
Based on the reports of the 10th ID, alias Domai explained that even before the encounter, she was already considering surrendering because of the lack of support of the masses whom they have been using to hide from the government troops. They also rely on their necessities from the masses.
Furthermore, part of her revelation is that their members lost their morale, and were replaced with discontentment due to the increase of the number of CTGs surrendering to the government.
Alias Domai is now under the custody of the 66th Infantry Battalion who is also preparing her documents and other requirements to provide her the necessary assistance she needs including the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP).
