CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga(PIA) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Cordillera  spearheads a study that aims to establish sewerage and septage treatment plant. in this city.

Vilma F. Talamayan, Environmental Management Specialist from DPWH-CAR, led city local government and academe officials in a forum here for the project.

Talamayan shared that Baguio City is the first to have this facility but other first class municipalities and urbanized areas in the region are eyed for the project under the National Sewerage and Septage Management Program (NSSMP).  

 This is   ideal for Tabuk being a fast-growing city, she said.

 The body resolved to work for the initial requirements of the project that include project proposal and feasibility study. Talamayan assured technical assistance in the preparation.

 The city LGU sees this as priority need and is considering a proposed site for the project. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
