Ifugao town establishes vaccination area in checkpoint

LAMUT, Ifugao (PIA) - - The municipal local government unit (MLGU) here established a vaccination area at the provincial border quarantine checkpoint manned by personnel from the rural health unit.

The additional vaccination area caters to individuals who are willing to be inoculated before entering the province as the “No vaccination card, No entry” policy is in effect until December 10. This is also to help increase the number of vaccinated individuals in the municipality to achieve herd immunity.

Lamut is one of the top three municipalities of the province with increasing vaccinated people daily.

Duty personnel of the vaccination area informed that dozens of willing individuals had been vaccinated on site with their preferred vaccines if available. Assessment and monitoring also conducted before and after the vaccination.

In one of the Inter Agency Task Force COVID-19 meetings, Governor Jerry Dalipog enjoined the 11 MLGUs to strategize their respective vaccination program to encourage more residents to be vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Lamut Municipal Health Officer Dr. Rhodora Montessa informed that a total of 16 vaccination sites were established ready for the National Vaccination Days on November 29 to December 1. Said sites are mostly in barangay health stations, barangay halls and some elementary schools in the community.

Montessa is inviting volunteer nurses, midwives and encoders to help during the vaccination days. Kindly test your names and address to mobile number  0995-3904009. (JDP/MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
