ILOILO CITY (PIA) - - The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) VI announced the winners of the Photo-Essay contest launched in celebration of the National Climate Change Consciousness Week on November 22 to 25 this year.

Students currently enrolled in the secondary level (Grades 7-12) in Western Visayas participated in the contest.  They were required to submit entry that included a photo or series of photos in consonance with the celebration’s theme, “Klima ng Kinabukasan, Ating Pangalagaan” accompanied by a one to three-paragraph essay in English succinctly and creatively describing the attached photo.

The first prize went to Jinelle Faye L. Canillas who received P3,000 cash; second place to Rea Camille J. Dalugdugan with P2,000; and third place to Ella Allaynah L. Gepilano with P1,500.

Consolation prize winners are Tyria Izabelle F. Pilapil and David Miles F. Cari-an who received P1,000 each.
