DAVAO CITY- The City Government of Mati turned over nearly P200,000 worth of gears and equipment to the Philippine Coast Guard Station Davao Oriental on November 25.
The equipment given to the Coast Guard Station were desktop computer, diesel generator, search lights, megaphones, life jacket and medical kit.
The gears were formally turned over by Mati City Mayor Michelle Rabat and was received by the Coast Guard Station Commander Lt. Junior Grade Elmar Mesina.
Mayor Rabat recognized the efforts of the Coast Guard Station based in the city who are reliable partners of the local government in patrolling the bays of Pujada, Balete and Mayo against illegal fishers.
This is not the first time that the City Government supported the Coast Guard thru the transfer of equipment. Last year the City donated night-vision binoculars, portable GPS, searchlights, lifebuoy can, megaphones, heavy-duty flashlights to the station. (PIA/RG Alama)
