D3770 reaches $200k total giving to Rotary Foundation

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - The Rotary International District 3770 recognized the generosity its club and individual Rotarians for the donation to the Rotary Foundation (TRF) which has become the engine that drives community service projects through the Rotary Club’s Global Grant that reflect Rotary’s approach to service above self.

As of November 11, 2021, D3770 with 2,215 Rotarians has an annual fund of $101,890.54; annual fund per capita, $46.00; Polio Plus fund, $20,338.78; Endowment fund, $1,000; and prior year total giving of $201,470.84.

D3770 Past District Governor (PDG) Pichoy Ramirez, TRF District chair said the best public image that the Rotary International can offer are the service projects that the Rotary Club built in the communities.

“The foundation supports many wonderful projects and the success lies on the contribution of every individual Rotarians, and it is through in these individual efforts we have the combined strength to engage Rotary and Change Lives,” PDG Ramirez said.

To date, the district has approved two global grants amounting to $84,810.00, two authorizations with $80,200.00, and another $34,000.

PDG Ramirez is hopeful that the other clubs in the district will also submit their application for the global grant.

“Every dollar, every project, every rotary volunteer, every Rotarian has built the TRF of tremendous values to thousands of people in hundreds of countries around the world,” he said.

The TRF has now reached more than $4 billion from life-changing sustainable projects which have started from the initial contribution of $26.50 during the then RI President Arch Klumph in 1917.

“We are very proud to be part of this advocacy of sharing, helping, and caring, and may we not hear the expression of appreciation from the beneficiaries but I can assure you that many are enjoying a better life because of the TRF,” he added.

Meanwhile, D3770 also recognized the three clubs contributor with the highest annual fund per capita. The Rotary Club of Santa Maria Bulacan with $387, followed by Meycauayan Northeast Bulacan of $285.71, and Mutya ng Santa Maria Bulacan with $264.10.

“The award for the top 3 annual fund per capita will be decided at the end of the rotary year,” the PDG said.

Governor Art Que urges Rotarians to continue to be a blessing to others to serve and change lives in his closing message.

On the other hand, Gov. Art Que in his closing message said that the TRF is the engine that powers so many projects around the world, the foundation has transformed the Rotarian's gifts into projects that bring a sustainable solution that leaves a lasting impact on the society.

“We have to recognize the giving efforts and the kind hearts of our fellow Rotarians to the Rotary Foundation, the charitable arm of Rotary International,” Gov. Que said as he urged Rotarians to continue to be a blessing to others to serve and change lives.

On their part, the Rotary Club of Tuguegarao Rainbow has 23 Paul Harris Fellows and 38 Sustaining Members. Three multiple Paul Harris Fellows are PDG Rogie S. Frangante (+5), PP Judd Nazareno C. Dimalanta (+2), and PP Sonnyboy M. Timbas (+1).
