QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Dr. Kezia Lorraine Rosario of the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) on Wednesday reported that at least 5,056,186 anti-COVID vaccines were administered during the second leg of the Bayanihan, Bakunahan from December 15-21.

“In total, may na-administer na tayo na around 103 million doses since we started our campaign, and then yesterday, which is part pa rin ng Bayanihan, Bakunahan part 2, we vaccinated 1,034,843 doses yesterday (Tuesday, December 21),” Rosario said during the Laging Handa briefing.

So far, 45.2 million individuals are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19, she pointed out.

"Since we started the vaccination program, we had administered 103 million doses already. Of this number, 45.2 million individuals are fully vaccinated," she added.

The NVOC official also said that some areas that were affected by Typhoon Odette has resumed their vaccination drive on Monday, December 20.

“Even though affected ‘yung several areas natin, tumutok tayo du’n sa mga areas na pwede namang i-push ‘yung pagbabakuna. Somehow, relatively okay din ‘yung pagbabakuna natin yesterday, last Monday, and then with the previous na makita natin na last Thursday and Friday affected talaga ‘yung pagbabakuna,” Rosario said.

The government is targeting to give 7 million COVID-19 vaccine doses during the Bayanihan, Bakunahan II and to fully immunize 54 million individuals by year-end. (PIA-NCR)
