CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - At least three more communist terrorist group (CTG) members from Sitio Jet, Barangay Rizal, San Guillermo town have surrendered to the Army's 86th Infantry Battalion (86IB) based in Jones, Isabela.

Brigadier General Danilo Binavidez, 502nd Brigade Commander, said that among the CTG surrenderers are members of the New People's Army's Regional Sentro de Gravidad (RSDG) and are residents of Villa Gracia, Maddela in Quirino province.

He said that the CTG members surrendered two M-16 rifles with ammunitions, and are now in the custody of the military.

Binavidez added that the surrender of the three CTG members is the result of the combined efforts of the 86th Infantry Battalion under the leadership of Lt. Col. Joseph Flores, the Isabela Police, and other stakeholders who are implementing Executive Order No. 70 of the current administration.

Philippine Army 5th Infantry Division Commander, Maj. Gen. Laurence Mina lauded all those involved in the joint endeavor that led to the surrender of the said ex-rebels.

He called on the remaining elements of CTGs to surrender and avail of the many benefits from the government provided under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), and end the more than five decades of communist insurgency and armed conflict. (JKC/MGE/PIA Isabela)
