Apayao PMFC reaches out to seniors on Women's Month

LUNA, Apayao (PIA) -- The Apayao Provincial Mobile Force Company together with the Luna Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) successfully implemented the "Mano Po, Pugay sa Sakripisyo ng Kahapon" in Brgy. Cagandungan, Luna, Apayao.

Some 64 senior citizens in Cagandungan and 20 others in Calabigan were given food packs.

 "The project is in celebration of Women's Month, as recognition for the role of the senior citizens in nation building,” said PCpl. Ivie Tao-ey, Police Community Relations officer of 1st Apayao PMFC.

She added that it is also a tribute for their important role in peace-keeping and women empowerment.

Force commander PLtCol. Wilton Padopad asked for the continuous guidance of these elders for a better delivery of their services to the public.

The Apayao PMFC also conducted lectures on the whole of nation approach to end local communist armed conflict.

He assured that gone are the days when violence is rampant in the area and that the government is there to safeguard life, ensure internal security, and will always respect the value of every single life in the country. (JDP/DEG-PIA CAR)
