NAVAL, Biliran (PIA) -- A total of 54 schools under the Department of Education (DepEd) - Division of Biliran have opened for the limited face-to-face classes after complying the safety requirements laid by the national inter-agency task force.
Of the 54 schools, six passed the assessment in compliance to health and safety requirements with the support of their stakeholders to conduct limited face-to-face classes on February 14, shared Lucille Roa, school governance and operations division chief, during the first quarter meeting of the Provincial Statistics Committee.
These schools include Bool National High School, Viga National High School, Biliran National Agricultural High School, Caibiran National High School, Manlabang Elementary School, and Biliran Central School.
Some 14 more schools retrofitted their facilities for the safety of their students, teachers, and personnel and be allowed to hold face-to-face classes.
These schools that were permitted to hold limited face-to-face classes on March 7 include the Binangonan Elementary School, Katipunan Elementary School, Maurang Elementary School, Looc (Caibiran) Elementary School, Information and Communications Technology High School of Eastern Biliran (ICTHSEB), Iyosan Elementary School, Naval School of Fisheries, Naval Night High School, Naval National High School, Almeria Central School, Almeria National High School, Looc (Almeria) Elementary School, Biliran Science High School, and Lucsoon National High School
Roa added that the third batch to apply for the face-to-face classes consists of 34 schools, namely: Pulang Bato Elementary School, Jamorawon Elementary School, Salangi Elementary School, Barubuhan Elementary School, Pili Elementary School, Talahid Elementary School, Matango Elementary School, Tabunan Elementary School, Tabunan National High School, Western Biliran High School for Arts and Culture (WEBHSAC), Palayan Elementary School, Tamarindo Elementary School, and Sampao Elementary School.
Also included are the following schools: ASEMCO Seafarers Learning Center, Elementary School, Sanggalang Elementary School, Villa Enage Elementary School, Busali Elementary School, Fidel Limpiado National High School, Cabibihan Elementary School, Caibiran CS, Kaulangohan Elementary School, Alegria Elementary School, Tomalisitis Elementary School, Mainit Elementary School, Uson Elementary School, Pulang Yuta Elementary School, Kawayanon Elementary School, Bariis Elementary School, Asug Elementary School, Union Elementary School, Maripipi National Vocational School, Maripipi Central School, and Canduhaw Elementary School.
DepEd - Division of Biliran hopes to open 80% to 90% out of the 143 schools in the entire province of Biliran in April, a month before the local and national elections, said Roa. (LDL/MLT/PIA Biliran)
