CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)  region 2 led the conduct of simultaneous Operation Plan Baklas of nailed, tacked and stapled campaign materials on trees along the national highway today.

DENR Region 2 Executive Director Gwendolyn Bambalan led the multi-agency Oplan Baklas in the entire region in partbership with Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Department of the Interior and Local Government, Isabela Police Provincial Office (IPPO), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and other government agencies.

Bambalan lauded the support extended by various government agencies saying that the Oplan Baklas is not a sole responsibility of DENR, COMLEC or the police but a concerted efforts of all agencies.

The said initiative is composed of five teams that were tasked to dismantle illegal campaign posters along the national highway in the whole province.

Meanwhile, OIC Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Federico Cauilan Jr said  the Oplan Baklas is also implemented in the interior roads by the Community Environment and Natural Resources Officers in the towns of Cabagan, Roxas, Naguilian, San Isidro and Palanan. (MGE / PIA Isabela)
