She added that there are other emission sources such as industrial but they focus on the transport in determining the key actions and actors to improve the air quality in the town.
"We have engaged with stakeholders in the municipality to identify and prioritize the actions that would constitute the town's Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP)," Casanova said.
They have identified the top three actions for target transport. These are public transportation improvements such as the approval and adoption of Local Public Transport Route Plan, Public Utility Vehicle Modernization, and raising awareness on and pilot demonstration of e-mobility, promotion of non-motorized transport and pedestrianization, and strengthened enforcement of emission standards, inspection and maintenance, and monitoring.
They have also noted some challenges on the implementation of these actions but they have laid possible solutions for these.
"We aim the partnerships and linkages with partners that promote these activities and support these activities in this pursuit," Casanova underlined.
"We believe that as we complete the action plan of the municipality, we will continue to engage with them and of course secure their thoughts, their feedback to how we can move towards the development of the plan and of course, see through its implementation," she said.
