TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - Qualified dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in this province received their educational assistance from Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

Under OWWA’s Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP), Divine Suyu and Reynaldo Mallorca received their educational assistance worth P30,000 each on June 17.

The EDSP is a scholarship grant to qualified dependents of OFWs consisting of a maximum of P60,000 per school year until the completion of a baccalaureate course (4-5 years).

For incoming first year college students, the selection of scholars is determined through the DOST national examinations. Only the top 400 passers are considered for entry as first year college students; 600 slots are for those who are already enrolled in college.
