CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) -- Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Thursday announced that June 30 will be a special non-working holiday in Manila to give way for the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at the National Museum of the Philippines in the said city.

The city mayor signed on June 22 the declaration of non-working holiday through Executive Order No. 53.

The Manila Police District and other law enforcement officers and authorities were also instructed to strictly implement security measures during the inauguration.

Moreno said that the inauguration will give the public the opportunity to witness a “significant event in the life of the nation.”

It is but fitting and proper that all citizens of the country, in general, and resident of the City of Manila, in particular, be given full opportunity to witness and welcome this significant event in the life of the nation," he added. (PIA-NCR)
