Since the start of the pandemic when most of the transactions became online, Isabela City and the rest of the municipalities in Basilan experienced poor network signals which prompted some internet users to use signal boosters which are illegal.

Recently, the engineers of the National Telecommunications Commission - Region 9 and Globe team conducted surveillance and inspection on all establishments and residential areas on the illegal use of signal amplifying devices and/or equipment.

Joel Zanoria, said that aside from the illegal signal boosters, they found out some parabolic piso-wifi businesses operating in some barangays which are also illegal and greatly affected the network signal. He said that Globe Telecom encouraged owners to visit their office and register their businesses for them to continue their operations legally. (RVC/EDT/NDR-PIABasilan)
