Batanes generates P3.2M sales in first post-pandemic trade fair

BASCO, Batanes (PIA) - - The week-long Agro-Industrial Trade Fair held here as part of the celebration of the province's 239th Founding Anniversary has generated P3.2 million in revenue, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Batanes office.

The fair, which opened from June 20 to 26, 2022 at the Capitol Grounds, featured the One Town One Product of each participating municipality, food and beverage, plants, handicrafts home-made by senior citizens, paintings, and other artworks.

According to the DTI, the public's enthusiastic response to the agro-industrial fair was manifested by the sales generated, the number of participating MSMEs, and the vast turn-out of visitors to the trade fair signaling the gradual resurgence of public consumption.

The first post-pandemic provincial trade fair was a collaborative project of the provincial government, municipal government units and national government agencies, and was chaired by the DTI-Batanes and the Provincial Agriculture Office.
