BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Department of Agriculture (DA) has linked a cooperative in Kasibu town to a  market through the KADIWA ni Ani at Kita Financial Grant Assistance Program (KAKFGAP).

Hector Tabbun, DA information officer, said they have successfully linked the  Kasibu Farmers Development Cooperative (KAFDECO) to Nutri-Asia with the help of Agri-Food Hub.

He said KAFDECO is a beneficiary of the DA’s Enhanced KADIWA financial Grant and utilized the grant in purchasing a delivery vehicle.

“The grant aims to enhance their capacities in value-adding activities in the food supply chain starting from consolidation, marketing and distribution of their farmer-members and non-members’ produce,” Tabbun said.

He said KAFDECO has been listed as one of the Nutri Asia suppliers as a result of a series of meetings and consultations focusing on the company’s preferred specifications on hot pepper and bell pepper.

Tabbun said for the month of June 2022, KAFDECO delivered and sold 150.86 kilograms of hot pepper and 5,658.28 kilograms of bell pepper valued at P696,342.50.

“KAFDECO will continuously supply/deliver products to Nutri-Asia. The established business linkage between KAFDECO and Nutri-Asia assured them of available market,” he said.

Tabbun said the Enhanced Kadiwa grant of hauling truck contributed in reducing spoilage, sustaining the freshness of the commodity and  savings on truck rental .
