Midyear Grand Bagsakan is a success - DTI

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here has reported that the recent DTI – Bureau of Domestic and Trade Promotion’s (BDTP) Midyear Grand Bagsakan held at Megatrade Halls 1-2, 5th Level, Mega B, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City is a huge success.

According to Silvester Miguel, information officer, the goal of the Midyear Grand Bagsakan program to become a platform where MSMEs and their products with high potential can be discovered in the market was successfully achieved.

Quirino MSMEs' fresh fruits and vegetables were among the most bought products during the Grand Bagsakan in Madaluyong City.

“It was reported by our CARP Coordinator and Bagsakan facilitator Kristal Anne L. Pera that around 1.13 tons of fresh agricultural produce were sold during the five-day exhibit,” Miguel said.

Miguel added that there was a high demand of fresh agricultural produce like dragonfruit, okra, ube, papaya, tordan banana, saba banana and bamboo sprout or labong as these products were almost sold out during the second day of the exhibit.

Meanwhile, Crissa E. Arios, junior business counselor and one of the Bagsakan facilitators said that the activity which was participated by some 13 MSMEs and over 100 farmers from the province has gained some potential institutional buyers specifically for agricultural products such as purple yam or ube, fresh fruits and vegetables.

The Midyear Bagsakan was participated by Baguio Village Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BAVIMCO), the exhibitor and consolidator of the products,  Maddela Integrated Farmers Savings & Development Cooperative (MIFSADECO), Quirino Livelihood for Everyone (Q-LiFe), Mataga-ay Coffee Growers Producers Cooperative, Diffun Saranay Development Cooperative (DISADECO), Federico's Enterprises, Quirino Young Entrepreneurs Association (QYEA), Villa Pascua Multi-Purpose Cooperative (VIPAMCO), D&D Cacao Products Manufacturing, Tres Reyes Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative, KSPA Food Products Manufacturing, Dumanisi Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative, ad MIF Processing Plant.
