BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - Governor Carlos Padilla has praised the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for the continuing implementation of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) in the province.

This came after the DOLE recently conducted its payout to the TUPAD workers at the provincial capitol in this town.

“The TUPAD program is a living proof of the relentless support of the government to the displaced workers of Nueva Vizcaya,” he said.

Padilla said the DOLE’s TUPAD will help in reviving the economy of  the province due to the negative effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

He expressed hope that the TUPAD will continue to be implemented in the province inorder to help the poor sectors.

Officials of the DOLE recently bared  P18M - worth of  salaries for the TUPAD beneficiaries has been distributed in the province and 4,063 TUPAD workers have benefited in a series of payouts held recently.

The payouts handed salaries of the TUPAD workers who rendered 15-day work through community service such as  clean-up and disinfection activities in public facilities as well as beautification of tourist spots in their respective towns and barangays.

The series of recent TUPAD payouts were conducted in  8  towns of the province such as in  Ambaguio  with 1,563 beneficiaries, Bayombong, Bagabag, Bambang, and Ambaguio  854 beneficiaries, Dupax Del Sur  with 299 beneficiaries, Kayapa 347 beneficiaries, Aritao with 312 beneficiaries, Sta. Fe and Quezon towns with 388 beneficiaries, and Villaverde  with 300 beneficiaries.(MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
