CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and the Local Government of Nagtipunan recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the provision of Water Sanitation (WATSAN) facilities at Barangay Keat, Nagtipunan.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Jess Beth G. Quidasol said the project with a total amount of P66,000 (for the first year) includes the construction of one Spring water collector in the said barangay which will benefit all the members of the Keat Farmers Association.

“The said project aims to address health and sanitation by adopting low-cost options for securing sustainable access to safe, hygienic and convenient facilities while ensuring clean and healthful living environment, clean water and health care,” Quidasol said.

Quidasol further said the water collector will serve as a reservoir which in turn provides a reliable and suitable irrigation to arable cropping farms within the locality.

Also included in the project is the rehabilitation of one existing spring box under the Community-managed Potable Water Sanitation and Hygiene (CPWASH).

Nagtipunan Mayor Noel Lim thanked the DAR for providing his townmates such projects as he urged them to be good stewards of said endowment and show commitment to every development project bestowed on them that will eventually enable them to become self-reliant and productive farmers.

The signing of agreement which was held at the Nagtipunan Municipal Hall was witnessed by DAR OIC- PARPO I Venilyn T. Mabunga, LGU Nagtipunan Executive Assistant Atty. Albert Lasiste Jr. and Keat Chairperson Tubayan Pasigian.

The MOA signing was also attended by MARPO Girlie A. Castillo, SARPT Francisco Tugatog, ARPO II Sherwin Charlimaine Obado, CRFSPS Focal person, ARPO I Joey Lucina, CP WASH Focal point, Steve Biyao and Benbot Palma, BODs of Keat Farmers Association and LGU Nagtipunan staff.
