Over 100 enumerators deployed as CBMS starts in 4 Iloilo towns

ILOILO CITY (PIA) - - A total of 113 enumerators were deployed as the 2022 Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) operations commenced in 69 barangays of the four municipalities of the province of Iloilo in August this year, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Iloilo.

The CBMS operation officially began on August 23 in the towns of Mina, Bingawan, and San Rafael while on August 24 in Batad. It is expected to end in October 6, 2022.

PSA-Iloilo said the CBMS operations in the 35 barangays are funded by the agency and the remaining 34 barangays by the local government units.

CBMS is one of the key data collection activities conducted by PSA that will enable the generation of more locally disaggregated statistics essential for targeting the poor and vulnerable in the country as well as for the use in local policymaking and program implementation.

It is an organized technology-based system of collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data that may be used for planning, program, implementation and impact monitoring at the local level while empowering communities to participate in the process.

This captures various aspects of quality of life in the cities and municipalities particularly in health, nutrition, housing, water and sanitation, basic education, income, employment, and peace and order.

PSA Iloilo Officer-In-Charge Supervising Statistical Specialist Jerry L. Dolutan is requesting the support and participation of the public for the success of the data collection undertaking. (JBG/PSA/laf/PIA6-Iloilo)
