They were also joined by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur represented by Provincial Board Member Christopher Baterina, DA provincial office staff, DILG Ilocos Sur staff led by Provincial Director Randy Dela Rosa, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) in Ilocos Sur, Department of Labor and Employment-Regional Office, LGU of Santa Lucia, Philippine Information Agency-Ilocos Sur Information Center, DENR Regional Office, CENRO Bantay, and the barangay officials of Bio.
Chairperson of Barangay Bio Floriano Caburnay said he is grateful that they are the beneficiary of the said event that will further improve their mini forest—a project they have been working on.
Meanwhile PENRO Rosemarie B. Jornacion said, “This activity shows that it is not only DENR who cares for the environment, this is a collaboration of everyone here today, so we thank all of you for joining us.”
She also asked the residents to check on the planted tree seedlings and make sure that they are well taken care of so that their efforts will be worthwhile once the trees grow and multiply. (JCR/AMB/ATV, PIA Ilocos Sur)
