CEBU CITY, Cebu Sept. 26 (PIA) -- As part of the week-long "Bakunahang Bayan: PinasLakas Vaccination Days" set from Sept. 26-30, 2022, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH 7) in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA 7), and in cooperation with the Association of Regional Executives of National Agencies in Central Visayas (ARENA 7), will hold a one-day massive booster vaccination drive on Sept. 30 at the DepEd 7 Ecotech Center, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.
The activity aims to support the government’s stronger nationwide booster vaccination campaign and help facilitate the rapid mobilization of COVID-19 vaccination services among the eligible population.
Eligible vaccinees on that day are:
- Primary and booster doses - for senior citizens, 18 years old and above, and 12-17 years old;
- 2nd booster dose - for senior citizens, 50 years old and above, media personnel, and persons with co-morbidities regardless of age.
The one-day vaccination drive will also serve as an opportunity to tap the assistance of government information officers in Central Visayas in promoting the advocacy by relaying to the public the significance of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, especially the booster doses.
The event is expected to be attended by DOH OIC-Secretary Dr. Maria Rosario Vergeire who will deliver the key message and Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama will give the welcome message.
The new president of the Association of Government Information Officers (AGIO), Russell John Maniwang, will also give a message of support on behalf of the government information officers in the region.
The program will be highlighted with a "PinasLakas Ceremonial Vaccination" and will conclude with the signing of the pledge of commitment. (RGC/PIA7 Cebu)
