Pilar, Abra gets 3 brgy health stations under SBDP ’22

PILAR, Abra (PIA) – The construction of three barangay health centers in this town will soon start after its groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday.

The health centers  to be built  in barangays  Ocup, Gapang, and Nagcanasan will be  funded under the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) 2022 with a total budget of P4 million.

Pilar Mayor Tyron Beroña and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Abra Provincial Director Daisy Payang led the municipal and barangay officials and national government agencies in the groundbreaking ceremony at Barangay Ocup.

Beroña encouraged the people to cooperate religiously in the anti-terrorism campaign of the government particularly Executive Order No. 70  institutionalizing the whole of nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace  signed by former President Rodrigo Duterte.

“We must continue to cooperate with the “whole-of-nation” approach of our government because we will all benefit from it,” Beroña stressed.

He reminded the barangay officials to exercise good governance over the projects given to them since there are only few barangays in the province that were listed as priorities under the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP).

“Hindi po lahat ay makakatanggap ng ganitong halaga kaya mapalad po tayo dito sa Pilar dahil isa tayo sa mga nabigyan ng SBDP projects,” Beroña added.

Pilar Liga ng mga Barangay Chairman Ronald Tacadan assured that his fellow local officials will take the anti-insurgency campaign of the government seriously.

For this year, there are 11 listed barangay-beneficiaries of the SBDP in the province –three in this town, four in Malibcong, three in Lacub and one in Tubo.

The SBDP is the hallmark program of the National and Local Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict with the end goal of bringing development to former conflict-affected communities. (JDP/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
