PRO-BARMM assures quality service for Maguindanao’s new PPO

PARANG, Maguindanao (PIA) -- The Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-BARMM) will continue to pour its efforts to improve the peace and order now that an additional police provincial office (PPO) in Maguindanao will soon operate.

PBGen. John Guyguyon, acting regional director of PRO-BARMM, said their office will focus more on the services that will be delivered to Maguindanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Norte.

“Our police stations are already there, so there’s no need to make necessary adjustments but have them work as is,” Guyguyon said adding the PNP will match its efforts to the efforts of the people in peacefully ratifying the division of Maguindanao.

The official also added that PRO-BARMM has started making arrangements on the resources for the new police provincial office in Maguindanao del Norte.

“When it comes to police personnel, there will be no major adjustments because they are already there, maybe we can just complement or augment them for them to be able to really work for the benefit of the new province of Maguindanao del Norte,” Guyguyon said.

Meanwhile, as to the location of the police provincial office of Maguindanao del Norte, the acting regional director said they are waiting for the new provincial government to identify an accessible area.

Guyguyon said, in the meantime, they are offering their regional headquarters to serve as the PPO of Maguindanao del Norte so as not to hamper the delivery of services of the PNP.

It can be noted that voters in Maguindanao favored the split of the province into two on a plebiscite held on September 18.

The division created Maguindanao del Norte which is composed of including Barira, Buldon, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Kabuntalan, Matanog, Northern Kabuntalan, Parang, North Upi, Sultan Kudarat, and Sultan Mastura. On the other hand, the towns of Ampatuan, Buluan, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Datu Anggal Midtimbang, Datu Hoffer Ampatuan, Datu Montawal, Datu Paglas, Datu Piang, Datu Salibo, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Datu Unsay, General Salipada K. Pendatun, Guindulungan, Mamasapano, Mangudadatu, Pagalungan, Paglat, Pandag, Rajah Buayan, Shariff Aguak, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Sultan sa Barongis, Talayan, and South Upi form part of Maguindanao del Sur.
