SEC educates police trainees on investor protection

TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) – Tarlac Extension Office educated about 100 police trainees on investor protection.

This is in partnership with Regional Training Center 3 (RTC 3) under the SEC Communication, Advocacy, and Network program.

SEC Tarlac Director Richard Laus said the seminar has an objective to educate and empower the trainees on the trends on investment crimes.

“This activity aims to further increase the awareness and knowledge of the newly recruited police officers on illegal investment activities and filing of complaints to track down and prosecute those behind such schemes,” Laus said.

Laus, Securities Specialist Charito Santiago, and Securities Counsel Theresa Reotutar served as resource speakers on the second batch of police trainees to undergo the Seminar on Investment Scams and Filing Cases.

For his part, RTC 3 Chief Police Colonel Miguel Guzman thanked the commission for its efforts in informing the future law enforcers on the matter.

“We express our sincerest appreciation to SEC Tarlac for its enduring commitment to excellence and exceptional support to the professional development of the police trainees,” Guzman said. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
