LAOAG CITY (PIA) – A total of 444,072 residents in Ilocos Norte has been registered in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), according to the latest tally from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)- Ilocos Norte.
 
In an interview, Johnsen Jett Asuncion, PhilSys provincial coordinator of the PSA provincial office, announced that this constitutes 78% of their potential target which is 567,046 residents to be registered.
 

Residents aged five and up are qualified to register to the PhilSys.
 
Registrants need to present a valid ID or their birth certificate to register for PhilSys.
 
Those willing to register are encouraged to visit the PSA office at IT Building, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, which is open from Monday to Saturday from 8a.m. until 5p.m.
 
“Tumatanggap kami ng mga walk-in registrants. Sa mga hindi pa nakapag-register sa PhilSys, five to 10 minutes lang po ‘yong proseso ng pagrehistro, kaya madali lang ito,” Asuncion added.
 
Moreover, the implementation and distribution of the printable version of the PhilID will begin on October 3, 2022.
 
The Provincial PhilSys Coordinator assured that the printable version is just as valid as the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or plastic version of the PhilID card. (JCR/AMB/EJFG/PIA Ilocos Norte)
