PNP notes peaceful MassKara so far

BACOLOD CITY (PIA)—The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reports a peaceful celebration of this year’s MassKara, a day before its highlight, Sunday, October 23.

BCPO Spokesman Police Lt. Colonel Sherlock Gabana said the festive mood surrounding the city is coupled with calm among revelers as no untoward incident has been reported since the celebration started this month.

He urges the citizens not to carry deadly weapons, to be free from illegal drugs, and follow the regulations the BCPO is implementing.

“The police is relentless in its efforts to curb and penalize those who will be caught using and selling illegal substances,” he said.

Gabana is also urging parents to take care of their children when going to crowded areas especially now that Masskara festivities are at their peak.

He appeals to merrymakers, as much as possible, not to wear jewelry as this attracts snatchers and thieves, to park and lock their vehicles correctly, and to secure their helmets.

He said everything is being done to secure the city and its people for a successful holding of 2022 Masskara. (Lljr/PIA 6 Negros Occidental photos by BCD PIO)
