MMDA suspends number coding on Oct. 31, Nov. 1

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced the suspension of the implementation of the Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or the number coding scheme on October 31 and November 1, All Saints’ Day.

According to MMDA Acting Chair Carlo Dimayuga III, some 1,500 personnel will be deployed to provide security and order during this year’s Undas.

Public assistance centers will also be placed and ambulances will be put on standby in major cemeteries:

Manila North Cemetery, South Cemetery, Loyola Memorial Park, Bagbag Public Cemetery, and San Juan Public Cemetery.

Likewise, Metrobase Command Center and Digital Media Group personnel will monitor traffic situations, respond to public concerns, and provide real-time traffic updates.

MMDA Chair Dimayuga also reminds motorists to plan their travel and ensure their vehicle condition before their trip.
