SSS warns 22 delinquent employers

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - Social Security System (SSS) has issued notices to 22 non-compliant employers as a result of the recently conducted Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) campaign in the towns of Aparri and Santa Ana, Cagayan

Porfirio Balatico, vice president for Luzon North 2 Division, said the employers failed to remit the contribution of their employees amounting to P3.52 million inclusive of accrued penalties.

He said over a hundred employees were affected because of the non-remittance of the contributions which is why they acted immediately by visiting the establishments and offered flexible payment schemes for the settlement of their delinquencies.

"Employers may settle their obligations through the Pandemic Relief and Restructuring Program (PRRP) 3 which offers installment payment terms ranging from nine to 60 months, depending on the delinquency amount. The program ends on November 21, 2022," Balatico said.

He also said aside from the PRRP 3, employers may avail of the Contribution Penalty Condonation Program for business and household employers. Qualified employers can pay the unremitted contributions of their employees and kasambahay, excluding the penalties, through a one-time payment or installment terms.

"Rest assured that SSS will closely monitor these accounts and collect the unremitted contributions for the benefit of their employees. Their timely remittance of SSS contribution is beneficial to their worker's eligibility for SSS benefits and loan privileges," said Balatico.

SSS officials conduct Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) in Aparri and Santa towns of Cagayan.

Balatico also stated employers who were subjected to RACE will be given 15 days to respond to the written notice by visiting SSS Tuguegarao branch located at Luna Street, Barangay Centro 3 this city.

Failure to comply will force SSS Tuguegarao branch to refer the delinquent accounts to the operations legal department for filing of cases.

SSS has previously conducted RACE campaign in Tuguegarao City with a recorded compliance rate of 88.33% and an initial PRRP 3 collection of P131, 423. (OTB/PIA Region 2)
