MSU motivates students to become ambassadors for peace

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Highlighting the significance of sustaining peace in the island of Mindanao, the Mindanao State University (MSU)-Main Campus based here has heartened its students to stand as ambassadors for peace.

MSU-Institute of Local Governance Director Norkaya Mohammad underlined that their constituents must learn to interact peacefully with their fellowmen in and outside the academic premises to showcase the peacebuilding efforts of the institution.

“We encourage you to be the ambassadors of peace because MSU is an institution we are transforming as a university for peace. You should be peaceful in your meetings with people inside and outside the [school] and tell them that MSU is a university that taught you what peace is, “ she said.

To have a good start, Mohammad stressed that each one should foster peace within himself for no one can give what he does not have.

Further, MSU-Office of Information, Press and Publication (OIPP) Director Saidamen Limgas conveyed to the students that peace begins in oneself and one's heart, thus, the necessary effort of each to nurture it for the benefit of the whole society.

“You should be your work always. Sincere ka dapat sa lahat ng ginagawa mo [You should be sincere in everything that you do]. By doing that, you are spreading the seed of peace in your own little way,” he said. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
