Bacolod PNP arrests 516 drug peddlers

BACOLOD CITY (PIA)— Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has arrested 516 drug personalities from January to October of this year, 2022.

During the recent City Peace and Order (CPOC) meeting, Police Lt. Col. Lester Leada, Deputy Director for Operations said the arrests were made from the 444 anti-drug operations conducted in the same period.

Some 473 individuals apprehended were street-level individuals while 35 persons were high-value individuals. A total of 709 cases were filed in court.

Confiscated illegal substances include 13,332 grams of shabu and 301.505 grams of marijuana with a total street value of P90, 704, 797.75.

On anti-illegal gambling campaign, for the same period, the BCPO arrested 705 persons in 199 operations conducted.

Twenty-nine persons were apprehended under Republic Act 9287 or the amended anti-gambling law, 587 were nabbed under Presidential Decree 1602 or Philippine anti-gambling law, and 89 individuals for violating PD 449 or the cockfighting law.

There were 198 cases filed in court while the cash confiscated reached P114, 391.25. (AAL/Lljr/PIA6 Negros Occidental)
