RDRRMC XI/ OCD XI raises alarm to alert-level blue

DAVAO CITY, Dec. 19 (PIA)--The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management XI has raised the alarm to alert-level Blue due to the holiday season and the effects of the weather systems from December 21 to January 2, 2023.

Lenie Duran-Alegre, assistant director of the Office of Civil Defense XI in a memorandum said that in anticipation of the influx of travelers, the Emergency Operations Center of the RDRRMC XI is being activated to closely monitor the situation and to coordinate all efforts.

She also urged everyone to be aware of the weather conditions like the effects of the shear and trough of the lower pressure area, inter-tropical convergence zone, and other weather systems.

“All members of the RDRRMC XI are directed to maintain heightened alert and to closely coordinate all efforts within their respective areas of responsibility with all precautionary measures and interventions are observed and well-undertaken,” Duran-Alegre said.

She also ordered the response agencies of the RDRRMC XI composed of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Health, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine Coast Guard to be on a standby for possible resource-support and augmentation, and to update the RDRRMC XI and the OCD XI on their preparedness measures, measures, and its response actions through the ocdregion11@gmail.com.
