MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)--The Department of Trade and Industry-Misamis Oriental (DTI-MisOr) conducts public consultations of the different Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) groups in the province to evaluate the results of the MSME Development Plan 2017-2022 and assess its impacts and prepare for a new MSMEDP.

First formulated through Executive Order (EO) No. 50 during the Duterte Administration, the MSMED plan is the sectoral plan for the growth and advancement of the MSME sectors and developed via consultations of the various stakeholders from the private sector, academe, and government agencies.

The MSMEDP aims to make the MSMEs in the country more globally competitive, integrated, resilient, sustainable, and innovative to perform as key drivers in the economic growth of the country.

“This is the time of the year that we have to evaluate and start the consultation for the drafting of another MSME term plan which is now 2023-2028, another six years of MSMEDP will be part of the Philippines’ MSMED plan,” DTI-Misamis Oriental Provincial Director Almer Masillones shared.

Tackling three business areas: opportunity, capacity, and environment, the activity is set to look at the parameters of what aspect had been properly implemented that helped the MSMEs improve their businesses.

Aside from the said parameters, Masillones said that the activity will also analyze what else needs to be added to the plan so that it could further maximize the improvement of the MSMEs in their businesses and greater realization of the implementation of MSMED plans.

The DTI-MisOr will be forwarding the results to the national committee for consolidation and potential inclusion into the national MSMED plan. (JAKA/PIA10)
