QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Some P245 million worth of funds have been allocated this year by the government for the centenarians' gift.

According to House Appropriations Committee Vice Chair and Makati City Representative Luis Campos Jr., the Congress is determined to provide annual funding for the program.

He said since 2017 they have allocated almost P1 billion in funds for more than 10,000 Filipino centenarians.

The DSWD implements the program in accordance with Republic Act No. 10868 or Centenarians Law of 2016, where Filipinos who reach the age of 100 whether in the Philippines or abroad will receive a P100K tax-free gift and a congratulatory letter from the President of the Philippines.
