PAGADIAN CITY, Jan 10 -- A 2-day Job Fair dubbed “Asenso sa Panarbaho 2023” is happening from January 9 - 10, 2023 at the City Covered Court of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, in connection with this year’s Pasalamat Festival.

44 local employers and three (3) National Government Agencies (NGA) participates in the said event. The Job vacancy is only for local hiring and not for Overseas employment.

Some of the available positions from the private sector include Sales Clerk, Cashier, Service Crew, Accounting Clerk, Motorcycle and Car Mechanic, Kitchen Staff, Admin Associate, Bartender, Medical Technologist, etc.

Some government positions are also open for hiring such as Jail Officer I, Police Inspector II, Law Enforcement Evaluation Officer II, Attorney V, Contract of Service, Chief Economic Development Specialist, etc.

286 job applicants flocked to the venue on the first day bringing with them their primary requirements such as a resume with a 2x2 picture, school records, and certificates obtained.

Mayor Sammy Co in his opening speech gave the job seekers hope to finally get a job at the said event.

“It’s not your profession, it’s not unsa imong na eskwelahan og unsa imong na gradwar nga kurso, what matters is your behavior sa trabaho,” Co said.

(It is not about your school, your grades, and your chosen profession. It is about your behavior towards your workmates and the people around you.)

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is present at the Job Fair and is giving skills demos for food processing, hand meal preparations, producing pastry products, and hair-cutting services. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is also present and they are giving flyers to the applicants.
